Angola: Ministry Considers Artists' Union Extremely Importance

Luanda — The deputy minister of Culture, Luís Kandjimbo, on Monday here declared that the National Union of Artists and Composers (UNAC), represents an association of extreme importance for the country's cultural sector.

Luís Kandjimbo made this consideration whilst speaking during the ceremony of swearing in UNAC's new management board, elected on October 24, 2008, held at the Congress meeting hall.

To the deputy minister, the significance of this association is illustrated by the fact that it is a crucial partner for the accomplishment of tasks and goals outlined by the Ministry of Culture.

The chairman of the managing board, Arnaldo Calado, the vice chairperson for music, José Massano Júnior, the first secretary of the general assembly table, Marcelino Franco, and the executive secretary, Tukayana da Costa, were the entities that signed the book of honour.
