Luanda — The minister of Telecommunication and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha, on Monday here stressed the urgent need to find, in partnership with other state institutions, mechanisms to overcome the difficulties in the implementation of the Programme of Expanding the Optical Fibre System in the country.
Speaking to the press at the end of an assessment visit to the technical buildings I and II of the Angola Telecom landline telecommunication firm, in the Angolan capital, the official considered essential working in partnership with the Road Institute of Angola (INEA) and the National Inter-sectoral Commission of Demining and Humanitarian Assistance (CNIDAH), in order to solve the issue.
According to José Carvalho da Rocha, the Ministry will study the most appropriate mechanisms to overcome the difficulties found on the routes where the optical fibre lines should be implanted.
The minister said the joint work for the inserting of the fibre with the capacity to convey light, should be mainly implemented in the landmines clearance field, so as to expand modern communication lines throughout the country.
The official considered essential the various investments made by the Angolan government in the field of telecommunication, because they will contribute to the improvement of information Technologies, apart from making telecommunication services accessible to the whole population.
