Celebrations marking President Biya's 26th anniversary in Batibo almost ended in disarray following the reading of a controversial vote of no confidence statement against the Section President, Fon Teche Njei.

The two-page document, a copy of which The Post procured, has no accompanying signatures, thus calling into question its authenticity. However, The Post learnt that a group comprising the Section Treasurer, John Forsab, the Secretary General, Philip Mbanwei, and Fon Gwan Mbanyamsig III of Guzang signed the memo.

But Fon Teche and supporters, among them, Batibo party officials and subsection presidents, have described it as a malicious document crafted with the intention of destabilising the party in Batibo. They have reportedly petitioned the CPDM Secretary General, Rene Sadi, on the matter

According to the document, the Section President failed to hold any party meeting since his election; was lukewarm towards the party and President Biya's anniversaries and failed to undertake activities that could contribute to the growth of the CPDM in Batibo.

But the CPDM Section President dismissed the accusations, describing those making them as miscreants and dissidents. He told The Post that he, alongside the executive and section presidents, was still making concrete arrangements to hold a conference next month.

He wondered why those who issued the no confidence statement failed to attach a list of signatures to it. This, to him, was is ocular proof of cowardice.Fon Teche and supporters recalled what they considered as the "unruly" conduct of his opponents on that fateful November 6. According to him, the celebration kicked off smoothly after the agenda had been amended and deliberations started.

Then to the consternation of all, he said, John Forsab, the Section Treasurer, indicated he wanted to speak but was told he could only do so when it is time for other matters. He said the Fon of Guzang opted to speak and when he was given the floor, he rather castigated the Section President mismanaging the Party.

Emboldened by this declaration, The Post learnt, Forsab sprang to his feet, pulled out a copy of the supposed vote of no confidence document. After that the group, led by the Fon of Guzang, walked away.

The celebration, however, resumed after that and continued to a peaceful end with the section President and Central Committee members delivering their addresses and the motion of support to President Biya read. They recalled that the "dissidents" created a lot of confusion during last April's reorganisation of the Party.
