Angola: Parliament Speaker Optimistic About CAN-2010

11 November 2008

Luanda — Angola's National Assembly (Parliament) speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, said Monday in Luanda he believes in the success of the organisation of the African football Cup of Nations, scheduled for 2010, in Angola.

Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, who was speaking to journalists at the end of the ceremony of homage to the Angolan former football stars, said all will be done for everything to go well.

According to him, the homage to the former soccer stars has come to stimulate the Angolan football family towards the challenges raised by the organisation of the event.

He also stressed that the homage served as well to see again team mates last seen long before.

The ceremony of homage to the Angolan football stars of the 60's, 70's and 80's was organised by the Organising Committee of the CAN2010.
