Luanda — Luanda province governor, Francisca do Espírito Santo, Tuesday here laid a wreath by the statue of the founder of the Angolan Nation, at the Independence Square.
The move is part of the celebrations of the 33rd anniversary of the National Independence, and was witnessed by the widow of
Agostinho Neto, Maria Eugénia Neto, relatives, members of Government, diplomats accredited to Angola and representatives of political parties.
At the Independence Square, adorned with flags, after the anthem of the Republic, and parts of the speech delivered there by Agostinho Neto, in 1975, the visitors laid flowers and paid a homage to the founder of the nation.
At the end of the ceremony, Francisca do Espírito Santo said Angolan people's biggest conquest was the National Independence , adding that everyone should be proud of being in peace, rebuilding the country and enjoying an economic and social stability that is helping mobilise synergies and permit social inclusion.
According to her, the international community itself today recognizes Angola as a country that has much to offer and Angolans should therefore celebrate with joy and hope.
