Uganda: Sh2 Billion Project for Orphans

Kampala — UWESO United Kingdom Trust, a charity organisation, is implementing a sh2.1b project to boost agricultural schemes run by widows, orphans and vulnerable children in Lango sub-region.

Tom Eti, the project coordinator, said returnees would also get mango, pine, avocado, lemon, passion fruit and oranges seeds.

Speaking at a workshop at Barr sub-county in Lira district last week, Eti said the project would be implemented at Chegere in Apac district, Loro in Oyam and Barr in Lira districts.

He added that farmers would also get bee-hives and start goat-rearing projects to eradicate poverty.

Cecilia Agang, the district secretary for finance, thanked the organisation for addressing the needs of widows and children affected by the Lord's Resistance Army war.
