Angola: Nelma Pinheiro Wins Provincial Beauty Pageant

Ndalatando — Nelma Laura da Silva Pinheiro, aged 20, on Monday evening was elected as the "Miss Kwanza-Norte/2008" during a gala that counted on 13 candidates, aged between 17 and 24.

The title of the first lady of honour went to Latoya Beatriz Couxeiro, whereas Alexandrina de Fátima Dias Alexandre, another contestant, won the Miss Photogenic trophy and the second lady of honour.

Nelma Laura da Silva Pinheiro, who succeeded Olga Tavares (Miss Kwanza-Norte/2007), received USD 5,000, whereas the first and the second ladies got USD 2,500 and USD 2,000, respectively.
