Kampala — TWO people died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned at Bisanje trading centre, 8km on the Masaka-Kyotera highway.
The victims were returning from the burial of their brother, Joseph Tamale, at Kiyimbwe village, Nabigasa sub-county in Rakai district.
The southern regional Police spokesman, Noah Sserunjongi, identified the deceased as Stella Mirembe and Agnes Namuddu, both residents of Nansana in Kampala.
Thirty mourners who sustained serious injuries were rushed to Masaka and Kitovu hospitals. They included the driver, Francis Luyinda and the 78-year- old mother of the deceased persons, Mary Babirye.
"We are facing the worst moment in our family. Imagine we buried our young brother on Sunday and now we are going back to bury our two sisters. I do not know what is going to happen to our relatives who are still in critical condition in Masaka Hospital," Luyinda lamented.
