Uganda: Landslides Warning for Eastern, Western Country

Kampala — The Disaster ministry is warning of land slides in Mbale and hilly areas in western Uganda.

The State minister for disaster preparedness Musa Ecweru says due to heavy rains, people in Bundibugyo, Kasese and areas around Mt Elgon are likely to experience land slides.

He says many areas in the west Nile have also been submerged by the floods after heavy rains this year.

Ecweru adds that the floods in Teso and Karamoja region have washed away some feeder roads as well as interfering with government programs.
