Kampala — FORMER national rally champion Ronald Ssebuguzi has joined the Festino Marshals Sprint, setting up what should be a close contest with Riyaz Kurji in Mukono on Sunday.
Justin Mungoma, an official of the event, confirmed the top drivers' participation in the sprint.
"The entry of Kurji and Ssebuguzi has not only made the race more competitive but also boosted the profile of the event," Mungoma said in a release yesterday.
Mungoma intimated that Kurji and Ssebuguzi would be paired together in the race that will run on the newly constructed track.
Ssebuguzi, who went through the course last Sunday, described the track as tight and very tricky.
"One needs to be very accurate in the tight corners. I will be cautious and I won't focus on winning," Ssebuguzi said in a separate interview yesterday.
Festino Cite, a new recreation centre in Mukono and TOTAL (U) have sponsored the sprint organised by the sport marshals association.
