Luanda — Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe are working to outline the terms of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
This was said Wednesday in Luanda by the Sao Tomean minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities, Carlos Tiny.
Speaking to the press at the end of an audience granted to him by Angolan Foreign minister, Carlos Tiny said the authorities of his country have defined Angola as their top diplomatic partner.
According to the official, who is in Angola since Monday as an envoy of São Tome premier, Rafael Branco, the definition of the models of strategic partnership is a priority to the foreign authorities of both countries.
He stressed that the partnership must be carried out in a perspective of future as, he added, the ties that unite Angolans and São Tomeans result from the common historic struggle against the Portuguese colonialism.
For this reason, Carlos Tiny said, the audience served to study ways of boosting the relations between the two countries.
To Calos Tiny, the cooperation should reach all areas, with stress to the economy, defence, security and health.
As to the sector of education, the minister said he has been following the evolution in Angola, characterised by the construction of new medium and higher levels institutions and upgrading of personnel which, he added, is an experience that could benefit Sao Tome and Principe.
He noted that his country has eight diplomatic missions around the world, contrary to Angola that has a higher number, hence the need for an exchange of experience in the domain of external relations.
