Angola: Ambassador Praises Country's Maturity

The Angolan ambassador to Mozambique, João Garcia Bires, acclaimed the maturity of Angolans, who during the 33 years of independence made every effort to maintain the national sovereignty.

Speaking during the ceremony to celebrate the National Independence Day, November 11, the ambassador recognised the great patriotism of Angolans who, in different periods, fought against the foreign domination and others forces so as to preserve the national independence.

The diplomat recognised the efforts of the Angolan government that, in six years of peace, has achieved macroeconomic stability, controlling indicators of the exchange rate and inflation and making economic growth reach levels above the continent's average.

Apart from these achievements, the ambassador who talked before Mozambican government officials, representatives of the diplomatic body, international agencies and the Angolan community, emphasized the great actions undertaken in the country concerning national reconstruction in order to improve the living conditions of Angolans.

Commenting about the relations between Angola and Mozambique, João Garcia Bires said that they are at the same level since they were established and the outcome shows well the identity that between the two people, who have always sought the same objectives as from the national liberation struggle until achieving an effective peace.
