Chairman of the national AIDS council, NAC President Ernest Koroma is expected to preside over the council's second crucial meeting slated to take place at State House today.
The thrust would be to plan the way forward in the fight against the pandemic in the country and map out the next year's interventions in a bid to build a stronger and effective coordination.
The meeting is themed: "Leadership and commitment in responding to HIV/AIDS in Sierra Leone."
The dialogue forum would discuss such issues as review of what has taken place since the inception of the project; all interventions in terms of funding and counterpart funding and sero prevalence rate in the country after years of war and political instability.
The setting up of NAC in 2002 was World Bank conditionality and the council was headed by the president while the director of the national AIDS secretariat NAS Dr. Brima Karbgo became the council's secretary.
NAS coordinates all HIV/AIDS activities in the country.
The membership of NAC includes civic groups, line ministries, UN agencies, people living with AIDS, parliamentarians, the military, police, women and youth groups.
