Sierra Leone: Attitudinal Change Targets Secretaries

Newly appointed national coordinator for altitudinal and behavioral change, ABC campaign Saturday lectured the membership of the national association of secretaries and administrators at the British Council hall in Freetown.

Mohamed Bangura said the formation of the association was a laudable intervention as secretaries are very pivotal in any institution, as they are the first point of call in any institution.

He said the concept of attitudinal change should be engulfed by every Sierra Leonean for peace, stability and development.

Bangura said President Koroma was of the opinion that lack of patriotism and nationalism largely contributed to the apparent malfunction of state institutions in the past.

"The mere pronouncement of ABC could not lead us to our determining goals, it is timely we stated putting the concept in to reality. Government is making frantic efforts to make the concept succeed. It is left with us Sierra Leoneans to accept it wholeheartedly. I am pleased to have an association that has taken up the challenges to recon with the fact that positive change of attitude does not only start at home but in workplaces," he said.

Bangura said it was good to have good relationship with others in order to propel this important concept.

"President Koroma is the only president that has decelerated his assets on assumption of office as well as promoting political tolerance, it shows that the president is determined to enforce the concept. I am encouraging you all to adopt an agenda of attitudinal change along the lines with the national strategy," he said adding his appointment as head of the institution demonstrated readiness on the part of the president to effect change in the country.
