Abuja — Major Banks in the country are falling over each other to sponsor Dream Team 1V coach, Samson Siasia's lnternational soccer academy, otherwise known as Siaone academy due to be launched November 17, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

Leading the pack is lntercontinental Bank PLC, which sponsored the initial take-off stage of the academy. Leadership Sports gathered that the management of the academy is favourably disposed to lntercontinental Bank's sponsorship.

Publicity Secretary of the academy, Segun Ogunjimi said lots of opportunities are open to other banks who want to identify with the academy that is designed to promote the development and growth of football in the country. "lntercontinental Bank will not be the only sponsors, other banks are equally welcome as there are many areas open for sponsorship. The management of the soccer academy is dialoguing with other banks to come in. The only academy that can rival the Siaone soccer academy for now is the one in South Africa."

Already, Siaone academy has received the blessings of President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, who has directed the minister of sports to represent him at the launching of the academy on Monday.

In a letter signed by his principal staff secretary dated Monday, November 10, it directed the management of the Siaone soccer academy to formally apply to FCDA for land to establish the school.
