Harare — THE race is heating up for the four finalists remaining in the CBZ A-Academy talent search show after most of the contestants were voted out during the run-up to the grand finale.
The top four survived the Sunday eviction, which saw one of the contestants Xolani Ndlovu from Bulawayo leaving the academy.
Academy co-producer Prosper Mtswiri said the voting would also be held this weekend, trimming down the number of contestants making for the grand finale.
The top four contestants include Prosper Tendere, Taremekedzwa Mutamiswa both from Harare and Praise Nyandimu and Makabongwe Moyo from Bulawayo.
"Voting started last Sunday in which one of the contestants, Xolani Ndlovu was voted out.
This was really an emotional experience considering the ties that was on between the contestants," said Mtswiri.
He added that eviction was still underway but it would be based on the votes received.
"I must admit that this year's show is brilliant and amazing, an indication that Zimbabwe is rich in talent," he said.
Mtswiri added that in the house the contestants would receive lessons on music from some experienced music directors as well as guidance on life.
The grand finale date has been slated for November 21 at the Harare International Conference Centre -- Rainbow Towers.
"We are looking forward to this day and we are really excited to see this day, on which one of the contestants will see his dream come true," he said.
This year's final show will see previous A-Academy finalists like Eric Moyo, Jonah Sithole and Tapiwa Mkhululi performing.
