Eritrea: PFDJ Youth Members in France Pledge to Enhance Contribution to National Development Drive

13 November 2008

Asmara — Youth members of the PFDJ branch in France pledged to enhance contribution in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and backing up national reconstruction and development endeavors.

The nationals expressed their commitment in a meeting they held in which a number of Eritrean citizens from France, Switzerland and Germany, as well as French friends of Eritrea took part.

The head of the PFDJ Youth branch office in France, Mr. Bereket Michael, asserted that the members under the umbrella of the Front would step up their contribution to the national development drive.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Eritrean Ambassador to France, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Dahli, outlined the major economic development programs being implemented within the framework of the Warsay-Yikaalo Development Campaign. He also called on the youth to reinforce their contribution to this end.

Did these so called PFDJ youth asked the question conscience as to why their brothers and sisters back home are fleeing their country in thousands every year bearing all the hellish travel on foot to Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Italy and more.... Have they ever thought as to why young Eritreans are being shot at the Sinai Egyptian border with Israel? Have they ever realized that young Eritreans in Eritrea are NOT even allowed to walk free in their own cities and villages but rather get asked for pass papers at every corner? It makes me wonder how someone sitting in free countries like France could support the dictatorship that is harassing young Eritreans back home? How could one sitting in a free country where he/she can dream about accomplishments in life justify to be a member of PFDJ, an organization that is killing the dreams, ambitions and goals of young Eritreans back home by conscripting for non-sense education Sawa when proper schools are available in Asmara. If at all you are being misinformed about schools at Sawa lead by illiterate military commanders, be aware that it is mainly aimed at putting every young Eritrean under control for military purpose and not for education purposes. A day will come though when all this non-sense comes to an end; after all even the seemingly endless Roman Empire had to come to an end when the right time came. Same applies to Eritrean dictators. What makes Eritrean case worse is that; this dictatorial government interested only at sustaining itself by any means has militarized every young individual which may mean by the time this regime falls, the likeliness of civil war is very imminent just like in Somalia. When everyone can shoot, it is truly dangerous.... unfortunately this regime doesn't care as to what may happen to Eritrea once it is out and that is why it is blindly conscripting everyone not knowing the consequences of such endeavor.

Worried Eritrean!

Do not worry Worried Eritrean. We know what is good for us in Sawa. The youth who are fleeing from Eritrea are swayed by your propaganda machines. We equally know people like you who are equipped with dubious intention are the main cause of the influx. Those who fled from Eritrea are now regretting with their wrong decision to the extent of going back to the country that they have left behind, if the government pardons them.

I will only challenge you for your phrase: "We know what is good for us in Sawa". Don't you get ashamed to present yourself as though you live in Eritrea when in fact you are sitting in diaspora.

You know what Eritrea's utmost blood enemies are people like you who sitting abroad are clapping hands with the dictator and portraying this evil military dictatorial regime as a civil government. If Eritrea were a good place as you and your junta try to portray, you as a selfish individual would be the first person to live in there. However since you deep down inside you know that in fact Eritrea is the hell on earth, you are far away from it.

Mr are you aware that your junta claim to develop and work for the people but people are facing a market asking for 50 - 80 nakfa a kilogram for onions??? It is not just onions; same applies for tomatoes and similar vegetables. That is about 3 - 4 US dollars. Please think, 3 to 4 US dollars for a kilogram of onion. I bet you there is no a single place on earth as harsh market as this. Is this because Eritrea doesn't have favorable weather for onion? I bet the opposite. The reason is that your junta have conscripted every young Eritrean for military which will mean every single product will head to the military while the public will have nothing.

Then there are some misleading individuals like you who live in North America but defend such dictatorial government as though they live in Eritrea and are part of the main stream public. Shame on you!

It is actually very surprising to see a youth association in France dominated by the so called "youth of 60+ years". These are veteran members of the now defunct EPLF posing as youth organisation. Eritrean youth are dying in the mountains of Eritrea or dispersed all over the world and targetted by Egyptian and Israeli soldiers. The "Bereket et al." of the so called Eritrean youth in France and French speaking around France wouldn't dare send their kids to the Isayas'"Sawa" and other hells with no return tickets, they are comfortably installed in France, Suisse, Belgium .... So please send your kids to that god forgotten country if you dare.
