Kampala — GRACE Gyagenda's reputation as a gospel artiste cannot be doubted, following the successful launch of his album, Tolwana, at Victory Christian Centre, Ndeeba last Sunday.
Gyagenda almost failed to start his concert when he realised the massive turn up. But he regained his stamina and kicked off with his hit, Mulemereko.
He also sang his new songs including Omukwano, Sijja Kugwa, Abbey, Tolwana, Sorry Satan and Ngumira Kuggwe.
When Pastor Joseph Sserwadda narrated Gyagenda's story, some members of the audience shed tears.
Gyagenda grew up with his mother, Robinah Ndawula.
He used to collect garbage for the well-to-do families to sustain himself and his mother.
Sserwadda donated sh500,000 and presided over a fundraising, in which he raised millions of shillings. Gyagenda donated the proceeds to Ssenge Children's Home, a centre for orphans and vulnerable children.
Pastors Freda Sserwadda and Hannah Nsumba, Apostles Charles Tumwine and John Bunjo attended. Gospel artistes Yasin Keeya, Wilson Bugembe and Carol Budwike performed.
