Angola: Singer Damásio Re-Edits 25,000 Copies of Latest CD

Luanda — The production firm of the Angolan musician Matias Damásio re-edited 25,000 copies of his most recent album entitled "Amor e Festa na Lixeira", from which 15,000 are already available to the public since last Monday, his producer Mota Lemos informed this Thursday.

The other 10,000 copies are still to be cleared from the customs so as to be placed in the national music market for the singer's fans.

Speaking to ANGOP, Mota Lemos added that the re-edited CDs will be only sold at the proper music shops, therefore discarding the holding of any public sessions.

"In this period, we will not carry out public selling activities in order to allow authorised music shops that pay taxes to the State to also have some profit", reaffirmed the person in charge of Matias Damásio's production issues.

According to him, the same conduct will used for others provinces of the country, having planned two or three sessions of signing autographs without selling the album.

The CDs is being sold for 1,200 Angolan Kwanzas, contrary to the 1,000 Kwanzas of the first public session held on October 05, 2008.

During the first phase the singer sold 10,000 copies of the CD on the same day.
