Uganda: Isingiro Residents Get 50,000 Coffee Seedlings

Kampala — Isingiro North residents have received 50,000 coffee seedlings from the Uganda Coffee Development Authority.

The seedlings were handed over to potential coffee farmers on Saturday by Bright Rwamirama, the animal industry minister and area member of parliament.

The beneficiaries were from five sub-counties including, Kabingo Town Council, Birere, Masha and Nyamuyanja.

Rwamirama told the residents that the donation was part of the bonna baggagawale (prosperity for all programme) and warned political leaders against discrimination while distributing the seedlings.

"We are all citizens of Uganda and we must all benefit from government projects. I have brought these seedlings not as a minister of the NRM party, but as a government representative. The seedlings must benefit all residents," he said.

He said government was re-introducing the crop after it was cut down by residents years ago.
