Zimbabwe: Mugabe to Form Cabinet 'Any Day'

Dumisani Muleya

14 November 2008

Johannesburg — ZIMBABWEAN President Robert Mugabe is likely to form his long-awaited new government any time from today after his party backed a call by regional leaders on Sunday that a government be formed.

The main opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) might finally refuse to be part of Mugabe's government.

The MDC rejected the Southern African Development Community (SADC) resolution on Sunday calling on Mugabe and MDC leaders to go home and form a government.

Main MDC faction leader Morgan Tsvangirai said he was not going into Mugabe's government without the home affairs ministry.

SADC had said Mugabe and Tsvangirai ought to share the ministry.

The ruling Zanu (PF) politburo resolved on Wednesday that Mugabe should go ahead and form a government with or without the MDC. Mugabe will invite the MDC to submit nominations for a power-sharing cabinet.

Information Minister and senior politburo member Sikhanyiso Ndlovu confirmed the politburo had endorsed the SADC resolution. "The Zanu (PF) politburo unanimously resolved that president Mugabe should, with immediate effect, proceed to form an inclusive government in compliance with resolutions of the SADC summit," Ndlovu said.

"Any time from now, the president is going to implement the SADC resolution."

Tsvangirai's MPs resolved on Wednesday not to be involved.

You couldn't have said it better. Let SADC give them the financial assistance needed to run a nation. African leaders a cowards; they have no balls to tell the truth.

Soon, dude, you'll be abusing contributors' mothers, the signature of Sierra Leoneans. This is not a soupist site, fellow. Here, you have to clean your lexicon with Chlorox.

Just a gentle reminder. Next time you use a bad word, I and others will get your post deleted.

If you want to "mami cuss", go to the soupist rags "Cocorioko" and "Awareness Times."

Cheers from the house of good breeding.

Forming a cabinet is one thing, but building a viable nation is another thing. I don't see how mugabe can rebuild the economy of Zimbabwe. He is the embodiment of everything wrong in Zimbabwe; garbage in garbage out. He should step down and spare Zimbabweans the agony of humiliation. The man need to do right thing by hanging himself for his crime against humanity.

SADC is simply a corrupt body, who are acting on their own self-interests.

It's a case of putting the wolf in charge of the chickens.

MT is your "living legend"? I suppose his French masters are also your "living legend."

This lackey of Western Imperialism, you call a legend; this opportunist beyond measure you make a hero? Correct: a hero of the West, of Western Imperialism.

No man is a saint, and Mugabe is no saint: but running to Paris when the heat is on? I call that cowardly, and you call it legendary, I suppose.

Bottom line: you can't fight by running away, and your "legend" is in Paris, or is that a legend aussi?

Regards.

Good luck Sikhanyiso Ndlovu and company, Zimbabwe is now your personal enterprise. As usual there is nothing that will come out of that government. Zimbabweans are assured of harassment, torture and death. That has been the major yardstick of the performance of the Zanu Pf government if Mutambara joins the Zanu PF government he will be joining a cavalier not supported by the majority of Zimbabweans. If the idea is to have the travel ban lifted to EU or USA then that is a selfish move because most Zimbabweans cannot afford going to those countries. We badly want a government that will put the wishes of the people first and a government that would protect everyone in Zimbabwe with no discrimination whatsoever.
