Angola: Commission to Run State-Owned Airline Appointed

Luanda — Angola's state-owned airline (Taag-EP) is since Wednesday operating under a managing commission appointed under a joint dispatch involving the ministries of Economy, Finance and Transports, as part of the company's re-founding programme.

According to the dispatch that reached Angop, the commission will have a one-year mandate that might be shortened or extended, depending on the company's re-founding programme coordinated by António Luís Pimentel de Araújo.

The team includes Joaquim Teixeira (coordenator assistant), Adriano António de Carvalho, Efigénia Martins, Luís Eduardo dos Santos, Rui Teles Carreira and Domingos Sebastião.

The members of the commission will be ascribed portfolios so they can better face the complexity and the immediate challenges of the company.

Among its responsibilities, the commission will secure the continuity of Taag-EP activity and tasked assigned from above.

In another joint dispatch from the mentioned ministries, a Taag re-founding committee is appointed, coordinated by Adriano António de Carvalho, assisted by Rui Teles Carreira.

The committee that will be under the minister of Transports, Augusto Tomás, is among other matters, tasked with drafting an organisational strategy for the new State-run air carrier.
