Angola: Governor Appeals for Quick Execution of Tasks

The governor of the south-eastern Kuando Kubango Provice, Eusébio de Brito Teixeira, called last Wednesday the attention of the personnel in the execution process of tasks related to governance, in order to allow a rapid socio-economic development of this region, corresponding to the population's real necessities.

The official was speaking at the second extraordinary meeting of the provincial government, during which he exhorted all cadres in Kuando Kubango, as well as citizens in general, to contribute to the execution of the various tasks within the public investments programme.

For the execution of the 2009 Public Investments Programme (PIP), the new governor said that it was chosen new proposals, alternatives, in the plans, policies and strategies for an accelerated development of the eastern Kuando Kubango Province, by carrying out with necessary speed the local government's projects to improve the people's living conditions.

The official underlined that the resolution of the problems of the populations will demand the local executors to speak less and work more in the tasks linked to the fight against hunger and poverty, among others, through sustainable development programme, by mobilising every operator of this province's economy, to create new jobs and technical and professional training.

The governor guaranteed that his government will continue to focus on the sectors of education and health, by building schools at all levels and hospitals, medical posts, as well as the sectors of energy and water, by recovering roads, fight against the most serious endemic diseases, so as to guarantee the populations' good health.

Eusébio de Brito Teixeira stressed that the government is also committed to the development of the productive sector and other areas such as tourism that might be a big income source, as well as the mobilisation of necessary financial resources for the development of the region, at all levels.
