Luanda — São Tome & Principe's Foreign Affairs minister for co-operation and communities, Carlos Alberto Pires Tiny, left Luanda this Thursday for his country, after carrying out a work visit to Angola.
During his stay, Carlos Tiny was received in audience by the Angolan Prime Minister, António Paulo Kassoma, to whom he handed over a message from the São Tomean Prime Minister, Rafael Branco.
After this meeting, the head of the São Tomean diplomacy said that the government of his country has chosen Angola as "the first strategic partner for co-operation in Africa ", having into account the historic and blood ties, which exist between the two states.
On the other hand, the official highlighted on the occasion that although his country is starting to take the first steps in oil exploration, there are already special agreements with Angola in this domain, concrete agreements with the Angolan state-owned oil company Sonangol as the key partner.
Still in his visit to Angola, the São Tomean politician held a meeting with his Angolan counterpart, Assunção dos Anjos.
São Tome's ambassador to Angola, Armindo de Brito Fernandes, saw off his country's top diplomat.
