Angola: Children Back From Germany After Medical Treatment

Luanda — At least 82 children, aged between two and five years, this Thursday arrived in the country from Germany where they were receiving medical care.

The minors, who were treated by health assistants of the German Friedendorf International NGO, were suffering from ophthalmologic and orthopaedic illnesses.

Speaking to the press, the spokesperson of the Kimbo Liombembwa NGO, which was responsible from sending the children, Marcelo Valombo, said that they were in that European country from two and a half years, in accordance to the complexity of the diseases that they suffered.

According to Marcelo Valombo, the children, from several provinces of the country, suffered from various serious illnesses that can still not be cured in the country and whose families could not afford to pay for.

The contract signed between the aforementioned NGOs enabled the evacuation of 957 children from the different provinces of Angola.
