Ghana: Peaceful Elections - Media Spotlighted

Minister of Information, Stephen Asamoah-Boateng has told the media to tone down and manage what he described as the "extremist voices" to ensure free, fair and violence free elections - see lead story of yesterday's edition of ADM.

In the same edition, Mr. Kojo Yankah, President of the African University College of Communication (AUCC) advised journalists to be more professional and avoid sensationalism. In today's edition, an open letter to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) from a practicing journalist and a press release from the Centre for Media Analysis (CMA) have made similar calls.
