The Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates takes place this Saturday at Mmabatho Stadium.

10 Things you didn't know about the Derby

1. Pirates have never won the Derby in the seasons when they won the PSL title.

2. Only 5 of the last 24 Soweto Derbies have produced more than two goals in one match. 19 Derbies have ended with two goals or less.

3. In the last 24 Soweto Derbies, Pirates have only managed to score 6 times in the first half (scoring 15 goals second half) in the process winning only won one of those matches, where they scored in the first half.

4. In contrast, Chiefs have scored 11 goals in the first half and they have never lost a Derby after taking the lead (winning five times after taking the lead). Chiefs have scored 13 goals in the second half compared to Pirates' 15.

5. In the last 24 League Derby matches, only four players have scored a brace: Siyabonga Nomvete, Thabang Lebese, Excellent Walaza and Lesley Manyathela.

6. Jerry Sikhosana, Benedict Vilakazi, Mark Williams and David Obua are the only players to have scored in two consecutive Derby matches.

7. 12 of the last 24-League Derbies have ended in a draw.

8. 4 of the last 7 Derby matches ended in a draw.

9. 8 of the 12 draws ended 1-1.

10. In the last 12 years, only Chiefs have won both Derby matches in a season (2005/06 season).
