Kampala — THE Commercial Court has put an injunction on the family land of the former president, the late Yusuf Lule, pending a decision on the case.
Dr. Ntwatwa Lule, the care-taker of the family's estate, was dragged to the court by Eng. Pius Mugerwa Mugalaasi for breach of contract and failure to refund the sh450m part payment for the family land in Kisenyi, a Kampala surbub.
Eng. Mugalaasi allegedly bought the land in August 2007, but it was later sold to another person.
Justice Anup Singh Choudry said Dr. Ntwatwa and his lawyer acted unprofessionally.
"If you want to rescind the contract, you must give reasonable notice...if there is another buyer, all parties and their lawyers must be informed...which was not done," he said in a letter to Dr. Ntwatwa.
He also ordered him to pay the costs of the case and respect the injunction slapped on the land. The family has, however, lodged an appeal in the Court of Appeal.
