Kampala — FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa has unconditionally withdrawn his defamation suit against New Vision columnist Joseph Kabuleta.
On July 1, 2008, Mulindwa filed a civil suit in which he alleged that Kabuleta had "written false statements which defamed him."
The head of the soccer governing body then demanded for damages of shs300m and "a permanent order restraining the defendant from writing or making further defamatory statements".
In his written statement of defense, filed on August 5, 2008, Kabuleta through Bossa, Tumwesigye and Sozi advocates, insisted that he can produce "strict proof of the claims" he made against Mulindwa in his Sunday Vision columns.
On November 3, 2008, a day before the scheduled date for the first hearing, Mulindwa's lawyers approached the defendant's legal team requesting that the case be withdrawn unconditionally.
