Uganda: Ace Nakamanya Under Scrutiny

Kampala — THE Club International beach volleyball tournament starts in Entebbe today with national women's top seed and champion Mariam Nakamanya unsure of what to expect.

Nakamanya, expected to make up for the exit at the Rwanda International quarter-finals, faces a different situation this time.

Nakamanya is paired with low ranked Vivian Aketch in pool B because she could not link up with Kenya's Yelena Juma.

The new pairing leaves Nakamanya with some hard work to do.

"I will just participate since I have a new partner, I don't know because it's tight," Nakamanya explained.

"I chose her because there was no other Ugandan. I have not been training."

Elsewhere, Dorothy Nampiima and Carol Atim are expected to maintain their good form.

The event has also attracted stars from Kenya and Rwanda.
