Lagos — Oyo State House of Assembly failed to sit on Thursday, following the lawmakers' decision to travel to Ogbomosho to attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala's daughter, Olamide.
Some Assembly members told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan that they decided to attend the ceremony in honour of the governor.
"We were practically on holiday, as all roads led to Ogbomosho to honour the number one citizen of the state," a member said, while another one jokingly noted that "we did not sit, because we had an oversight function to attend to in Ogbomosho."
The Assembly sits every Tuesday and Thursday, but it did not sit on November 11, because the lawmakers travelled to their constituencies to oversee their development projects.

Shows all these elected officials are "kiss Asses". What is more important, legislation for the benefit or improvement of the state or a party organized and attended by parliament members because it was the governor celebrating. Folks use your brains and you dont have to be asses yourselves.
