Soyo — The Liquefied Natural Gas (Angola LNG) project, designed for the vicinities of Soyo district, northern Zaire province, will on Friday reach a new stage of implementation, with the symbolic handover of the site for the establishment of the undertaking.
This will take place during the meeting that will be attended by members of the provincial government, of the Oil Ministry and representatives of the project's main shareholders (BP, Chevron, Exxon, Sonangol and Total).
At the meeting, the authorities responsible for the project will officially receive from the Dutch company, Boscalis, the certificate on the conclusion of the drainage of 100 hectares over the Zaire river, as part of the site for the construction of the plant.
"Angola LNG" is located to the west of Soyo city, between Zaire river and the Kwanda base, and will cover an area of about 240 hectares.
Once complete, the four billion US Dollars investment project will produce initially 5.2 million tonnes per year of LNG.
