Luanda — Women that have displayed an outstanding performance in the various spheres of activity in the Angolan society in 2008, were honoured Saturday evening in Luanda.
At the homage, held at Luanda's "Casa 70" entertainment house, during the "Divas Angola" gala, those elected received a statuette and gifts from the organising company "Glamour em Festas".
The event honoured Yola Semedo (singer) who received the title of "Year Diva", Mara Dalva (journalist), Francisca do Espírito Santos (provincial governor), Karina Santos (top-model) Emília Morais (businesswoman) and Emília Sousa (pilot).
Also honoured were Ary (singer), Marcelina Kiala (handball player) Manuela Soto Maior (physician), Isilda Hurst (lecturer) and late Olga Baltazar (declaimer).
Angola 2008 diva ceremony, attended by over 350 people, was enliven by singers Londa Sabino and Sandra Cordeiro and also had the performances of elected singers Erika Nelumba, Ary, Yola Araújo and Yola Semedo.
The event was attended by Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, accompanied by the first lady, Ana Paula dos Santos.
