Abeokuta — Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello has denied snubbing former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman (South West), Chief Bode George, and General Adeyinka Adebayo (rtd).

Obasanjo-Bello was accused of snubbing the duo at the wedding/ thanksgiving service for Oyo State Governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala's daughter, who wedded in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, weekend. She said the report in some national dailies were untrue, adding that she greeted the two personalities warmly, before taking her seat in the Church.

Speaking to THISDAY yesterday in Abeokuta, senior legislative aide to the Senator, Mr Bidemi Osunbiyi, laid the clash between the Senator and Governor Gbenga Daniel at the event, on the doorsteps of Daniel's security details.

According to Osunbiyi, "Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello was dancing behind Daniel in the Church, but to the utter consternation of everybody, one of Daniel's securiy details charged at her, twisted her hand and shoved her aside."

He said Obasanjo-Bello who felt embarrassed by the action, walked quietly back to her seat. Osunbiyi berated the security personnel for throwing caution to the wind by manhandling the Senator, adding that the action was the most uncivilised.

He said his boss was a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and as such, deserves some respect. Daniel, had for sometime been at a logger head with Obasanjo-Bello, over unresolved political differences, a development that has wided the gulf between them.

The most recent feud, was an allegation against Daniel who was said to have directed, Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, to halt the conferment of Iyaniwura of Egbaland title on Obasanjo-Bello which was billed for last Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The Senator, according to checks, equally turned down the honour on the ground that she could not meet the condition attached to it by Alake, which was that she had to apologise to Daniel.
