Kampala — FORMER national champion Ronald Ssebuguzi reckons he can match Riyaz Kurji's pace in the Festino Marshals Sprint in Mukono today.

Ssebuguzi (Mitsubishi Evo4) has been paired with Kurji (Subaru N8) in what is expected to be the head-to-head race of the day on the newly constructed Festino double track.

Ssebuguzi hailed the organisers for pairing him with what he called "a driver of standards."

"That's great. The paring is perfect. Kurji is at my level. I will do my best but I won't take risks on that tricky track," Ssebuguzi stated.

The Jomayi Property Consultant sponsored Ssebuguzi said he would put his car up for sale after the sprint.

The parings based on the entry list placed national champion Ahmed Ashraf (Subaru N8) against Bob Roberts in a Mitsubishi Evo 4.

Female drivers Susan Muwonge (Subaru N10) and Laila Mayanja (Mitsubishi Evo4) will also compete.

The Uganda Motorsport Marshals Association event has a record 32 drivers.

Festino Cite, a new recreation centre in Mukono and TOTAL Uganda have sponsored the event.
