Egypt's Al-Ahly players hold the African Champions League trophy after drawing 2-2 with Cotonsport Garoua of Cameroon in the second leg of the final played in Garoua. Ahly, title favourites from the start of the competition, last February triumphed 4-2 on aggregate after winning the first leg 2-0 in Cairo two weeks ago. They have now won the trophy six times.
The Garoua-based side faced an uphill task against the five-time champions, who held a 2-0 lead from the first leg two weeks ago.
But they fought back from a goal down to give Ahly a real challenge. It was not, however, enough in the end as the Cairo team levelled it up through a penalty and went on to take the trophy.
