Tunis — One of Germany's leading suppliers for the electric and automotive industry, will soon start a car cable production plant in the industrial area of El Kef, in Western Tunisia.
Work has already started on the plant which will cover an area of 8 hectares, and which is expected to start production in 2010. The project is expected to generate 2000 jobs by 2011, and will boost the region as an industrial pole.
Most of the personnel has already been pre-selected in view of benefiting from an appropriate training.
It is said that the project will require an investment of some 31 million dinars.
Founded in 1928, Coroplast operates plants in Germany, Poland, Mexico, China and now Tunisia. It also has some 23 service centres throughout the world.
The company's products include wires and cables, wiring harnesses, and flexible printed circuits.
