Angola: Government Donates Music Instruments to Church

15 November 2008

Luanda — The Luanda governor, Francisca do Espírito Santo, Saturday here handed over to the Carmo Parish of the Catholic church the keys for the first school music and instruments.

The set of instruments contained in the school includes sound amplifiers, acoustic batteries, audio cables, professional speakers, crossovers, flutes, guitars, music books, dynamic microphones, mixers etc.

According to the governor, the music school is part of the Luanda government's purpose of keeping children busy in their free times, in a patriotic and sound way and make of music a vehicle for transmission of moral and patriotic values.

In his turn, the parish priest, António Estêvão, thanked the gesture and said that through music it is possible to preach the gospel and keep youths and children busy during school holidays.
