Luanda — The member of Parliament with opposition New Democracy (ND) party, Nzola Pille Mamona, Saturday in Luanda, considered the national independence as an expression of freedom for the Angolan people who all along fought for self-determination.
Speaking to Angop, the MP said the date, November 11, served for the unity of the Angolan people as, he dded, on that day Angolans started leading their and the country's destinies.
To him, November 11, 1975 was a decisive step in the project of angolanity to the wellbeing of the whole population.
The MP appealed to the Angolan adult people to transmit their knowledge to the new generations, in order for them to know the sacrifices experienced for the country to become free, in peace and moving towards development.
On November 11, 1975, Angolan nationalist and then president of the now ruling MPLA party, Antonio Agostinho Neto, proclaimed the independence of Angola.
