Angola: Over 300 Kilometres of Road Repaired

Bengo — At least 366,000 kilometres of road linking the localities of Viana/Maria Teresa, Kifangondo/Catete and Kifangondo/Caxito/Rio Dange, in northern Bengo province, have been rehabilitated in the last two years by Angolan Government, in order to improve traffic, Angop learned.

The information was supplied on Thursday by Bengo provincial director of Angola's National Road Institute (INEA), Domingos António, who added the roads suffered technical alterations.

He said as well that the project included the repair of hydraulic passages and restoring of horizontal and vertical road traffic signs.

Two construction firms carried out the works. They are MotaEngil, on the Kifangondo/Catete stretch, and China Roads and Bridges Corporation (CRBC) on Viana/Maria Teresa and Kifangondo/Caxito/rio Dange roads.

According to the source, the Úcua/Pango Aluquem, Pango Aluquem/Quibaxe branch and Mobil/Quibaxe/Bula Atumba roads, in Bengo province, are also being repaired.

Also under repair are the Catete/Cabala, Cabala/Muxima and Cabo Ledo/Muxima roads.

The source said as well that preliminary works are taking place for the replacement of the bridge over Kwanza river on the Cabala/Muxima road.
