Luanda — Angolan deputy minister of social communication, Manuel Miguel de Carvalho "Wadijimbi", said Thursday in Luanda the emergence of the weekly "O País" will enrich the lots of journalistic options for people to express their ideas and gather information about the country and the world.
The official said so at the ceremony of presentation of the weekly by the social communication minister, Manuel Rabelais.
According to "Wadijimbi", in addition to expanding the information choice to readers, the Project is a source of job that will absorb nationals.
He stated as well that the Government, through the Social Communication Ministry, will support and cooperate with the weekly, defending the emergence of new titles, thus contributing to the elevation of the quality of the national media.
"Wadijimbi" said that the project shows that there is a market for private investment in the country's social communication.
But he said the organs should be objective, serious, plural, responsible and patriotic.
The deputy minister said that the exercise of informing and being informed is intrinsic to democracy and part of human's fundamental rights as, he added, social communication constitutes a propeller of society, to the benefit of the country's political, economic and cultural development.
The launch was witnessed by Government officials, journalists, politicians, business people and other guests, with stress to Industry minister, Joaquim David, and deputy minister of Social Communication, Manuel Miguel de Carvalho "Wadijimbi.
