THE Erongo Police confiscated about 45 kg of dagga worth approximately N$70 000 in two separate busts at Swakopmund and Walvis Bay on Saturday.
In Swakopmund, a 70-year-old woman out on bail after her arrest in October for allegedly possessing dagga worth N$8 200, was again arrested at her home in the township of Mondesa - this time with 43 parcels worth about N$33 000.
"She ignored the law, and wished to continue poisoning the people of this region.
She is against our policy of making Erongo safe.
"The legal system will consider her conduct, and this time she might not receive bail," said the Erongo Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner Festus Shilongo said.
In Walvis Bay, a man and a woman were arrested at the taxi rank in Kuisebmond.
They were allegedly transporting 47 parcels of dagga worth about N$37 000.
The parcels were packed in bags placed in the boot of the car.
Both busts were made after tip-offs from the public.
All the suspects will appear in the Magistrate's Courts today.
