ONE of Namibia's top advocates and a leader in the field of human rights, TJ Frank, resigned as chairman last week from Trustco Holdings.
He tendered his resignation as a member of the Namibian publishing and insurance giant's board of directors on November 13 with "immediate effect".
Frank has been a former judge in Namibia.
As a long-standing legal practititioner and businessman, he has been sought after to serve on a variety of established and new companies.
Currently, Frank is a director in other financial institutions.
According to a press release dated November 14, Trustco company secretary PJ Miller said: "Due to his directorships in inter alia other financial institutions and considering the input that would be required from him in respect of Trustco going forward and also considering the close relationship developing between Trustco and Barclays Plc and Absa Capital he was of the view that it was appropriate to resign."
Trustco had recently requested Barclays Plc to bankroll its expansion drive to the tune of US52 million.
It has also listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange's Africa Index grow its capital base.
David Namwandi will act as chairman pending the appointment of a new Chairman, Miller said.
