Tanzania: Migration Camp Serengeti Picked for Conde Nast Readers Choice Awards

Arusha — Readers of Conde Nast Traveler have named Elewana's Migration Camp in the "Best Resort in Africa category, in the magazine's 21st Annual Readers' Choice Awards. Taking 11th place overall in the Africa category, the results place Migration Camp as Number 1 in East Africa.

The 20-suite Migration Camp is hidden amongst rocky outcrops in Northern Serengeti. Arguably the most famous National Park in the world the Serengeti is rich with game throughout the year, providing the stage for the world's largest animal migration when up to 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle make their way through their annual grazing pattern across the great plains.

According to a Press Release issued by Elewana Afrika on November 9 , the Readers Choice Awards gala took place on Wednesday, October 15th in New York City at the New York Public Library.

Every year since 1988, a select sample of Condé Nast Traveler readers have taken the Readers' Choice Survey. In 2008, the questionnaire was available to all readers through a secure Web site. This year's results have been derived from the tabulations of 32,633 responses with 323 qualifying candidates.

Elewana Afrika owns and manages three luxury safari lodges and camps in Tanzania's Northern safari circuit; Migration Camp, Tarangire Treetops, and Arusha Coffee Lodge. Due to open at the end of November 2008, is the Manor at Ngorongoro which effectively completes the Northern Circuit Safari.
