Abuja — The Angolan ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Evaristo Domingos, has said that corruption was not an exclusive reserve of Africa, but a global phenomenon.
The envoy, said so yesterday, while speaking to journalists on the occasion of his country's 33rd independence anniversary, in Abuja.
Ambassador Domingos, who was responding to a question, noted that corruption cannot in any way be described as a sole peculiar to Africans.
He insisted that corruption is a global problem, which cuts across race, continents and all peoples of the world.
The ambassador further added that corruption could be found in Europe, Americas, Asia and every other part of the world community and, so, it would be wrong for anyone to ascribe it solely to the continent of Africa and its peoples.
He however, noted that the nature and degree of the problem may vary from region to region and country to country, but that it remained a problem that the whole world was faced with.
"The only difference about the problem of corruption is its nature and level which varies from country to country and continent to continent". He maintained.
Ambassador Domingos also said that approaches to tackling the menace of corruption equally varies from country to country, and amongst people of the various regions.
