The President of Ghana John Kufour is expected in the country this week on a two day official visit, the Liberian leader President has confirmed.
The President told members of the Executive Mansion Press Corps that she has invited the Ghanaian President, who is expected to leave office next year as the official guest of the country.
The President expressed happiness that President Kufor has accepted the invitation to visit Liberia as President of that country before he leaves office next year.
President Kufor is currently serving a two years term and in keeping with the Ghanaian constitution, he can not contest for another term.
The out-going Ghanaian leader was very instrumental in helping to work with the regional body ECOWAS and some of his counterparts in the region to bring peace in the country.
President Kufor and his country Ghana can be credited for hosting the peace talks on Liberia, which ended the civil war in 2003 and usher in the transitional government, which eventually laid down the frame works that resulted to the holding of the 2005 General and President Elections.
