Ghana's Black Queens remain confident they can end Nigeria's strong hold on the African Women Championships despite failing to take all three points from the Falcons in their opening game on Sunday.
The Queens took a first half lead courtesy of Florence Okoe's screamer but threw away the lead with three minutes remaining.
It was a rare opportunity lost for the Queens to get one over the side that has won all previous five titles at this level and beat Ghana to it three times in the final.
But the result has still boosted confidence in the Ghana camp.
Coach Gamel Mumuni who claims the Nigerian goal should have been called for offside is adamant the score line has strengthened his resolve this could be the Queens year.
Gloria Oforiwaa who played her part in the draw says, "It's a good result for us. We made a mistake but could have won. We wanted to win but we are not heart broken.
"This was the most difficult and important match so one point is not bad. But we will win our remaining two matches and move on."
The Queens play South Africa next on Wednesday before taking on Tunisia in their final group game on Friday.
