Ghana: Faisal Hoping for Armando Inspiration

17 November 2008

King Faisal coach Rashid Iddi is hoping the signing of ex-Black Stars striker Baaba Armando Adamu will give his side the experience and fire power they need to break into the top 4 this season.

Armando has joined the Kumasi club, he says to stay in shape for a January return to Russia but Iddi is confident the former Asante Kotoko player will be around long enough to lead Faisal's assault on the elite of the Ghana League.

He turned up on Friday for his first training session with the side and Iddi is happy with what he saw despite the fact that Armando has not played football for at least a year.

"He is n good shape but there is work to be done," Iddi told KickOffGhana.com.

"But he certainly will be fit and ready for our opening game against Asante Kotoko."

Iddi says he will deploy Armando as a second striker and feed off his fine build.

"There is a lot he can offer this team," he said. "He is strong, good on the ball and has proved in the past he can score goals. I am just hoping I can get the best at him."
