Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Yussif Chibsah is desperate for a chance to prove himself to Milovan Rajevac and is urging the Serbian to cast his selection net wider.
Rajevac will take his charges through an international friendly against Tunisia on Wednesday as he looks to boost his squad ahead of the resumption of 2010 World Cup qualifiers in March but Chibsah feels the selection process is not giving players like himself and others a fair chance to prove themselves.
Chibsah, now on the books of Swedish Allsvenskan side Gelfe IF feels he will still be useful to the Black Stars in midfield after captaining the nation at the 2004 Olympics and featuring in the qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup.
"I feel sad sometimes but I'm very happy for the team as a whole," he told KickOffGhana.com.
"All we asking for is the chance to prove ourselves. We can't ask more than this because we are just players and we don't take decisions."
Chibsah feels he deserves another chance given his form and experience.
"I can say I had a very good season as a debutant in the Allsvenskan League having started 25 games out of 30 and winning Man of the Match awards in 10 of them."
