Abuja — The 27th edition of the annual Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) earlier slated for the end of this month in Kebbi, Kebbi State has been cancelled for logistic reasons. The games will now hold in Lagos next month.
Sylvester Ikwejamoye, President Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) who disclosed this to Leadership Sports in Abuja, said the games will now come up in Lagos between 11 and 18 December, 2008.
The FEPSGA boss however, refused to give reasons for the cancellation of the games from Kebbi but Leadership Sports investigation revealed that it might not be un-connected with earlier cries by the participants that Kebbi State will not provide the necessary facilities to meet the standard of the competition.
"The games will now hold in Lagos next month. We have some problems with our earlier arrangement to host the games in Kebbi, but we are now considering Lagos. And the games will come up December 11 and 18," he disclosed.
Ikwejamoye also expressed confidence that the change in venue and date will not affect the games. "Everybody is eager to go and I don't think this change will affect the games because everybody is aware already," he concluded.
